The times we are living in

Posted on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 9:47 PM

We are not living in easy times. There seems to be challenges coming from many quarters globally as well as in most people's personal lives. I think it is not easy for children and young people growing up to know what is valuable and important . With the rise of the internet and mass media it seems the gaps between generations is getting greater and some of the time honoured universal truths are being lost in the hype.

I am very happy to be one of the sponsors for Deepak Chopra latest book. The Seven Spiritual Laws of Superheroes. It really is a great bridge builder of understanding .

Deepak Chopra and his son Gotham will expertly guide you through the seven essential laws that govern the realm of superheroes, explaining how they will help you or young family member,  uncover greater happiness, courage, balance, creativity, compassion and purpose!
This is the link and there are lots of gifts if you buy the book as well!!

The power of your imagination

Posted on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 12:10 AM

I hope that you are using your Colour Reflections MP3  visualisation each day. One of its purposes is for you to discover the power of your imagination. Our imagination and brain are trained with time and repetition whichever way we use it. Either worrying,  or positive imaging as  the Colour Reflections script prompts  will alter your brain biochemistry and wiring. Practicing will take you where you want to go.  Don't worry if you can't follow each part , sometimes you might get engrossed in a certain part's detail and that is fine. The next day it may be another part or you can follow my voice the whole time, depending on what is happening in your life. However the main point is to give yourself a mini holiday and  build good memories through your whole being. By finely developing the skill to visualise and bring  your senses into the experience  in the now it will help you when you are visualising a particular goal or hope that you have, become more emotionally engaged with it. That will then empower you when you are taking action, rather than just relying on will power or adrenaline!

It also helps your brain loosen old memories of pain and discomfort so you can move forward. I have been re reading Norman Doidge's book "The Brain that Changes Itself" and in particular how they have helped those with "phantom limb pains" which were very debilitating to the sufferers to no longer experience that pain!!  Which is amazing when you think about it. They did it through combing two techniques for the most difficult cases.  Each day they  imagined in their mind's eye the limb  moving  and at another time of the day they  used a mirror box and moving the  arm or leg that had not been amputated,  to build a different memory in the brain associated with the amputated limb. Most experienced at least some relief  if not all pain gone. This took for most between 4 to 12 weeks depending on a number of conditions. Before, these breakthroughs occured in treatment people thought they would have the pain for the rest of their lives.  I find it so inspiring to see how powerful these breakthroughs in neuroplasticity are to help us move forward in life, to lessen suffering and build more of the experiences we want.

Please use your Colour Reflections each day and practise your breathing more or practise seeing any thing you would like to see come into your life or this world when it is just the music playing.

Please write and tell me what opens up in your life, or what has been brought in as a result.

Circle of Care

Posted on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 7:23 PM

Hello, I hope you are fine. Having returned from Melbourne and the UN's Health Conference  I am more convicted than ever, both from preparing our exhibit and attending the various workshops and discussions that the time is ripe to shift our focus to community  health with the emphasis on the wholistic approach that understands how the nourishing or neglecting of all of our needs whether on the physical, spiritual, emotional, environmental, mental or social level is really the determinant of experiencing vibrant contentment or illness of some sort. I saw many times the politics behind health but through the conference some new level of appreciation emerged that the top down bio-mechanical,  illness model is not going to work long term. Thank goodness! If you would like to know more about my reflections please visit my other blog www.tracydegeer.com/

Mentioned there also is the new book launch by Deepak Chopra called ‘Muhammad, A Story of the Last Prophet’. I am very pleased that he is leading us once again to a deeper place of understanding our common humanity and divinity. If you would like to read his reflections and see an interview please follow this link deepakchoprabook.com/

You may be intrigued by the line "you are an important part of a circle of care". This is a phrase that I know is relevant to so many people's lives , including my own. We care for others but do not include ourselves in needing our own consistent care as well, so we run out of energy. This approach to life is unsustainable. It is not easy making the shift but it is important and actually helps us care for everyone to a greater extent. This is the name of my program . Please email me if you would like to know about it.

Finally I would like to share a chart summarising the health benefits of various fruit and vegetables . Enjoy them while you nourish all of you. Warm wishes Tracy

Colour Reflections Dream

Posted on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 6:18 AM

I probably won't have a chance to write again for a while as we are going on a big overseas trip but I wanted to share one aspect of the story behind the Colour Reflections CD -which is a beautiful dream I had.  I dreamt that I was a cup , but my owner was the great king of all the land. In the dream I was being held as he gave wonderful advice to the citizens of his land. All many of people came in , some very important and powerful and some were the average citizen , but all were listened to intently and given wonderful personal advice or directions to solve the numerous problems and situations. As I was held in the hands to be drunk from , or just being on the table I could see the deep love, kindness and benevolence in his eyes. The whole next day after I awakened I felt like I had been held by love and benevolence, which is why one of the central themes in the guided meditation is receiving from the benevolent heart of the universe. I wanted to convey that feeling to others , so they could more easily feel that they could be wrapped in that feeling of safety,  protection and comfort and time they felt that need.  To access your copy you can click here or join the club where it is available for free.

Hello again

Posted on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 2:20 AM

Hello as you probably noticed I have not done anything on this site or related site of healthfoundations.com.au for at least 8 months. Those months and the 2 years before have been deeply challenging for me and it took all my energy to just hold my own so to speak. I was juggling between my Father's health, Grandson's birth and complications and then my own health, while keeping up with many other things so really I had nothing to say.  Now again though I really want to keep sharing, teaching from what I have learned and so the theme of these blogs is going to be about the "Capacity for DID" What does that mean you say. To explore what may assist or hamper our capacity to Digest (food and life); Integrate and Distribute our nourishment, energy, love, wisdom and joy. I have found that having a philosophy of complete well being provides a bigger framework to work out our own story on. I don't know how frequent this blog will be now as we are also soon embarking on a big trip overseas for a few weeks but I wanted to at least start talking again.

Much peace, hope and love Tracy DeGeer
